I use the USB port to play music from USB devices, which worked very well with Net V1526. However, I cannot make it work after upgrading to Net V2057, and had to revert to Net V1526. Kind of unexpected as V2057 is stated as just adding support for Tidal High Res, which should not impact the USB function.
Hi, update by inputing the Amps ip address into a browser on a computer. A page will load up and click on the update tab. The new software will upload for about 5 mins. Then reset to factory settings.
I did that, but it created all kinds of problems (mostly with the remote control, the streaming and the menu changes), so I reverted to V1526. Lost a few hours for nothing, and almost bought a WiiM Ultra before deciding to stick to V1526 that works well enough with the MusicLife app. Still curious about the WiiM Ultra and may ultimately purchase if/when it goes on sale.
That’s strange. In my experience, V2057 messed up my Cast connection but the new Webclient made me use the USB port more than before. Ultimately I went back to the previous f/w too because I wanted Cast back, but now I miss the Radia Webclient (I don’t use Tidal at the moment). I hope they fix it at some point and we can have it all without problems.
On another subject, are you using Dirac room correction? I did a quick test, but ended up with heavy changes in the fidelity of the music - not bad, but quite different. Maybe I should have persisted, but it sounds a bit complicated (is there a good tutorial anywhere on the internet?). So far, for best results, I use a pc connected via optical and I play the music stored on the PC or internet radio using MusicBee and its included equalizer personalized to my taste and the room acoustics. Although enjoying a lot my system (Focal Chora 826 and SVS SB-3000 sub), I am still wondering if I am not missing something significantly better using Dirac…
DiRAC for me is really about Bass management. In my setup I don’t let it go above 500Hz which stops it messing with the mids and upper mids. It’s worth persevering with but you need a calibrated microphone like the Umim-1 (or above).
I used the included one with my SA30 and didn’t get good results. After buying the Umic-1 and waiting 6 months to use it, wish I had done it straight away as the results were much better.
