Aracam SA30 IP 0.0.0.0, ARC v.0

Hello! I buyed Arcam SA30, but I can’t use this device.

My network settings seems to be lost as the unit displays the following I.P : 0.0.0.0, and net V0, and ARC v.0

Moreover I am unable to reinstall the firmware via USB and reset the net (the unit freezes).

There is nothing I can do at this point.

What can I do?

Direct reprogramming of HOST and LCD micros fromonboard PCB headers。If you are in China, I can help you~

Maybe your best bet is to not use the streaming features and just put a streaming DAC or a streamer and a DAC in front of it, something like a WIIM pro plus which supports just about every protocol would be a good fit and cheap

It seems strange that Net reset isn’t working though. Maybe the network port is dead. Have you tried setting a fixed IP address just as a test.

Hello! It sounds pretty complicated! Does this method require special equipment? I’m not from China(((

Hello! How set a fixed IP?

Light indicator to back of the unit on Ethernet output does not turn green when connected.

The flash drive does not light up when connected.

IP address is v.0.0.0.0. Google Home sees this device, but when I connect it, it says that the device has already been used, reset it.

But NET Reset in the unit not working.

eARC is not working too, this version - 0.

Wi-Fi Analyzer sees the unit and its IP, but this IP not allows enter in web interface.

Search the forum! There is a thread from a long while back that talks about an update leaving the amp in this state. Following recovery process and correct update, in theory you should be ok.

I managed to find the original recovery instructions incl. downloads on the Harman support site https://support.harmanaudio.com/fi/fi/howto/recover-arcam-sa30-net-module-after-stalled-net-v1542-update-emea/000017526.html

I don’t know if this helps. It is information I got from the Arcam support some years ago…

”In that case, I suspect the ARC module may have crashed. I recommend trying the following:

Enter the engineering menu by simultaneously press MENU INPUT- & DIRECT.

Once in the engineering menu:

press DIRECT to enter settings

Press INFO to navigate down

Press DIRECT to perform ARC recovery

Press DIRECT to confirm.

The SA30 should now recover the ARC module, this will take around 5-10 minutes. If it does not recover please let me know.

Once this has taken place, try the update one more time via usb and see if it successfully updates the ARC version.

Kind regards

I seem to remember that you need to do it on the web page, which could be an issue. I originally thought you could set it on the system menu, but I could not see it when I looked

Thank you!

But this method don’t work. The unit does not see the flash drive or the Ethernet cable.

Thanks.

But the method don’t help me(((

You tried exactly as written, switched off, inserted the ISB with the supplied files and and kept the service switch (at back of amp) pressed for more than 30 seconds after switching back on? And then released the button and waited at least 30 minutes before net reset and system reset? From what others have said the only reason that would not work is if you hadn’t followed the instructions correctly.

These instructions here with photos should help from paulguk How to do a full reset and reload of firmware - #28 by paulguk

USB stick needs to be FAT32 formatted

Otherwise, Precisely what did you observe whilst doing this?

do you still get Arc v0 and Net v0 or just in 0.0.0.0?

Are you trying to connect via the Ethernet cable to your router or wireless?

If wireless, do you have an android or Apple device on the same network?

Equipment Required for Brushing (Flashing Firmware)

  • Hardware: MPLAB ICD 4

  • Software: SA30 Combined hex software

If you have no experience in firmware flashing,It is better to contact the official after-sales service.

Yes, i ‘ve used this method. I kept the service switch pressed for more than 30 seconds after switching back on. It takes more than 90 seconds to turn on and load regardless of pressing the service switch. Then the inscription Arcam SA30 appears. It still freezes when you try to reset it (Net Reset) or update NET UPDATING.

But the unit does not see the flash drive (the indicator does not light up). When the Ethernet cable is connected, the light indicator does not turn on.

Any reset attempts end in freezing.

Apps such as MusicLife, Arcam Control don,t detected the unit. Google Home sees this device but on the final stage it displays an error message that says “The device has been used before, please reset it”.

Wi-Fi Analyzer sees Arcam and IP address but It is not possible to access the web interface at this address.

There are no specialists in my city who repair Arkam equipment, and I have already received more than 5 rejections.

Hmmmm..

You never said what created this situation in the first place. What happened?. Presumably your amp was working previously?

I would first try the reset process again without the Ethernet cable or anything else connected except the USB stick. Is your USB stick is definitely FAT32 format? I’d also suggest leaving longer to get through the update before further interacting with it, I do recall one update I made took hours…so I’m just saying maybe start it and leave overnight to be totally sure it’s finished up.

If this fails I assume you don’t have a software problem, must be some hardware issue.

I think only option you have is to then go back to a dealer, if you can find one. You could try Arcam/Harman support ticket but because SA30 is now discontinued I doubt they would be able to help.

Yes, I tried to update all night, and the flash drive was formatted in the FAT32 system. Today I found a dealer in my city and gave them the device for diagnostics. It may be necessary to replace the network card. However, there is still hope that the issue is software-related.

I bought this device from a private seller. The seller claims that the device was working before it was shipped

I guess it depends on how you purchased, AFAIK eBay for instance will protect the buyer if it was non-functional on arrival. I would have tried to return it, but glad you found someone to look at it. Wishing you luck! :crossed_fingers:

@Movier wondering if you had any success getting your amp fixed? Might be useful to post here if so, to help others who might read this in the future :slightly_smiling_face:
