Maybe your best bet is to not use the streaming features and just put a streaming DAC or a streamer and a DAC in front of it, something like a WIIM pro plus which supports just about every protocol would be a good fit and cheap
It seems strange that Net reset isn’t working though. Maybe the network port is dead. Have you tried setting a fixed IP address just as a test.
Search the forum! There is a thread from a long while back that talks about an update leaving the amp in this state. Following recovery process and correct update, in theory you should be ok.
I seem to remember that you need to do it on the web page, which could be an issue. I originally thought you could set it on the system menu, but I could not see it when I looked
You tried exactly as written, switched off, inserted the ISB with the supplied files and and kept the service switch (at back of amp) pressed for more than 30 seconds after switching back on? And then released the button and waited at least 30 minutes before net reset and system reset? From what others have said the only reason that would not work is if you hadn’t followed the instructions correctly.
Yes, i ‘ve used this method. I kept the service switch pressed for more than 30 seconds after switching back on. It takes more than 90 seconds to turn on and load regardless of pressing the service switch. Then the inscription Arcam SA30 appears. It still freezes when you try to reset it (Net Reset) or update NET UPDATING.
But the unit does not see the flash drive (the indicator does not light up). When the Ethernet cable is connected, the light indicator does not turn on.
Any reset attempts end in freezing.
Apps such as MusicLife, Arcam Control don,t detected the unit. Google Home sees this device but on the final stage it displays an error message that says “The device has been used before, please reset it”.
Wi-Fi Analyzer sees Arcam and IP address but It is not possible to access the web interface at this address.
You never said what created this situation in the first place. What happened?. Presumably your amp was working previously?
I would first try the reset process again without the Ethernet cable or anything else connected except the USB stick. Is your USB stick is definitely FAT32 format? I’d also suggest leaving longer to get through the update before further interacting with it, I do recall one update I made took hours…so I’m just saying maybe start it and leave overnight to be totally sure it’s finished up.
If this fails I assume you don’t have a software problem, must be some hardware issue.
I think only option you have is to then go back to a dealer, if you can find one. You could try Arcam/Harman support ticket but because SA30 is now discontinued I doubt they would be able to help.
Yes, I tried to update all night, and the flash drive was formatted in the FAT32 system. Today I found a dealer in my city and gave them the device for diagnostics. It may be necessary to replace the network card. However, there is still hope that the issue is software-related.
I bought this device from a private seller. The seller claims that the device was working before it was shipped
I guess it depends on how you purchased, AFAIK eBay for instance will protect the buyer if it was non-functional on arrival. I would have tried to return it, but glad you found someone to look at it. Wishing you luck!
