Hi. I play Spotify on SA 30, which works fine. But when I want to switch on Dirac, using the Audio button on the remote control, it displays ‘Dirac not available’. I enabled Dirac on all input sources in the audio settings menu. Is Dirac on Airplay possible anyway? On the other sources Dirac works OK.
That’s an interesting one. I don’t use Spotify but I do use DiRAC on Roon and with UPNP without issue when I stream
I don’t see why it wouldn’t work, have you accidentally enabled direct mode, but that only makes sense for physical connections
Unsure, but are you saying you are using Spotify Connect or are you casting from an Apple device using airplay?
Hi, direct mode on all inputs are disabled, but indeed this is probably not important for streaming.
I cast Spotify from an iPad using Airplay. SA30 is connected to the network via LAN. Does that answer your question?
From Harman support I got the following advice:
To use Dirac when streaming via Airplay, you’ll need to change the Dirac Curve in the Audio settings of the Arcam SA30. This will allow you to specify which Dirac calibration is applied to each input.
I guess they mean that Dirac must be enabled for an input, which I did for all inputs, but Airplay is not specificly mentioned in that list (for input NET enabeling is possible, I guess you use that for uPnP).
Any further suggestions?
I believe you needs to put the curve on the NET input and that should apply to airplay, chromecast and direct streaming. If you look at the manual for chromecast it specifically refers to the NET input so I assume airplay would be the same, you will soon find out if you try.
I am not suggesting you will necessarily hear a difference, but you could use chromecast or Spotify Connect for the amp to stream directly. I’d go for the latter, given that means you still use the Spotify app for that.

It is solved!
I was in contact with Dirac as well, because the Dirac program reported fault messages when calculating and sending the curve to the amp. They adviced to do a total reset and disconnect the power chord, which solved it. So now I enable the Dirac curve when streaming over airplay (and also over the NET input using Lifemusic).
