I’m not clear about the status of Deezer support on the SA30.
In my case, the main way I used the SA 30 was streaming from Deezer in CD Quality.
I understand that this is not working, but I don’t know if there are plans to restore it.
In my country, Tidal/Qobuz services are not available. Is there an alternative subscription service to play at that quality?
I can understand that there may be changes in supported services, but leaving equipment without the ability to stream at the quality that justifies it seems like a mistake by Arcam.
Were you previously using Chromecast to get Deezer working?
It appears that Arcam broke Chromecast for some with the latest firmware update. But you can downloaded the old version and put that back on of you want, as Arcam have made it available for download again.
Thanks for the response. No, I don’t use Chromecast, neither Airplay. I prefer to use direct access from SA30 to streaming Service (Deezer).
I will install previous version and see if I recover compatibility. Thanks.
I’m still surprised of the poor service from Arcam, just loosing compatibility with the services that promotes is a limitation to take into consideration to invest in their technology in the future.
I installed previous software version V1542 and streaming from Deezer recovers. Thanks for the help.
I don’t understand the communications channels of Arcam to its customers. Perhaps I’m missing something, do they send Releases Notes or any kind of communication about changes or problems like these ?
Well I am glad you were able to roll back and get it working the way that you want it.
It seems Arcam have been having development and firmware issues since before the SA30 was launched and we are now pretty much their forgotten children.
There is the information on their web site but it does not amount to much as you have found.
Thankfully the amplifier sounds really good, but I have mostly stopped using its streaming features and moved to using Ropieee and an external DAC where I think it sounds much better
It’s odd as streaming works amazing for me on Tidal connect (FLACS at full bitrate), through BubbleUPnP, Musiclife app, and anything I want to Chromecast from phone. Plus the new weblink on latest update works brilliantly for Radio channels / podcasts.
I guess I just must be lucky or something but absolutely no need for me to get a dedicated streamer right now.
I do actually enjoy using it directly with both LMS and BubbleUPNP using the UPNP protocol and it sounds great. I almost never use TIDAL or Qobuz directly.
As well as Roon I use HQPlayer and that definitely sounds much better than anything through an external DAC and through RCA inputs. I find Room directly is a bit muddy and impacts the bass quality
