Hello,
I own a Denon 4700H, and I decided to pair it with an Arcam SA30 power amplifier, along with Evoke 30 and Evoke 25C speakers. For Hi-Fi, the setup is stunning (especially with Dirac Live).
BUT…
In home cinema mode, it’s a nightmare: watching movies has become unbearable (with or without Audyssey). The left and right channels seem out of sync with the center channel, and the sound feels muffled, with voices sounding muted in every scene. Sometimes, there’s even an echo.
I constantly have to adjust the PM volume on the Arcam (fixed in power mode) and the volume on the Denon (pre-out) to try and balance things. However, when I reconnect the Evokes directly to the Denon, everything goes back to normal.
I suspect the issue lies with the combination of the Arcam and the Denon, possibly because the Evokes demand more power (which the Arcam should provide), but the result is dreadful!
I’m frustrated because I’ve invested a lot to enhance both my Hi-Fi and home cinema experience, and now it’s just not working.
Have you ever encountered this issue? Thank you.
