My Arcam SA20 works well after I purchased it used a few months ago. Recently I tried to see if what online bloggers said about its digital filter choices will bring any difference to sound. But I realized that it’s not shown in the system menu, though I browsed the menu in the display screen back and forth many times. Then I realized that the system version appears to be v0.18. But what I see on youtube blogger is a 1.03. I checked Arcam’s website, it says 1.03 is its initial version, and it listed higher versions like 1.07 and 1.10 now.
My question is: 1. Any one know or have every seen a SA20 firmware version 0.18 and know why/where it comes from? 2. Can I download the 1.10 firmware from Arcam website and use the usb to upgrade my machine, following the website’s instructions? I’m not sure if the upgrade failed, my amp will become a dead brick or not. If that happened, anyway to flash the firmware back to 0.18 where at least the amp works .
