I am disposing of my pristine 18-month-old SA30 and want to perform a factory reset for the new owner. How do I do this (preferably without having to connect via an external lead)? An Arcam YouTube video https://youtu.be/0IbTOmDXkmU?si=oxbqkLda8rYfjC-1 gives instructions for Arcam AVRs but doesn’t correspond to the buttons on the SA30. Help!
You can just do it from the menu, using amp’s display.
In the menu you should find “system reset” and “network reset” options. You need both, as they are for separate modules.
Network reset is more important, as this is where all your streaming services settings are stored.
System reset is just for things like maximum volume, inputs etc, so related to analogue part of the amp only.
Please be specific how it is done from the menu by specifying button sequence.
Thank you.
With all due respect I am sure you can read a manual as well as anyone else! Check out page EN-20
Thank you Madfiddler. Yes, I can read the manual, but found the instructions inadequate to achieve a re-set as required. The SA30 is well-built and delivers great sound. However, it is let down by its user interface and early cessation of software development. Arcam would do well to emulate the interface of the NAD M10 which in comparison is a joy to use and which has replaced the SA30 in my system. The introduction of the Radia series has effectively left the SA30 with its Dirac facility high and dry.
