Never heard back on your connecting of the rel sub.
Hi Greg. Great to hear from you and apologies for not letting you both know how I am getting on. The connection as you both said, was very straight forward and works like a dream. Very happy with the base just need to tweak it so the levels are all spot on. My next challenge is that the high end seems to fall apart and slightly higher volumes i.e. The treble become very bright and distorted. Now I haven’t played with room acoustics nor played with Dirac as yet. You’d think I would have had it all sorted by now but alas… I became a grandfather recently so have been pre-occupied. Hope you’re both well and enjoying the sounds of our systems. Take care. Thx Luke
That’s unusual for the treble to sound like that. Are you on the lightest firmware? Is it constant or sporadic. Congratulations on being a grandad
Hi Greg. Yes I do have the latest firmware installed and it is constant so i am hoping that once I do the Dirac challenge that the problem goes away. I’ll send you a copy of the new curves for you to have alook at once I have done it, if that’s okay with you, to see if you can shed any light on it. Cheers. Luke
Hey Mike. How’s the man cave with your 2 REL beasts? Cheers Luke
Hi Luke they are baby beasts and are working really well thanks and congratulations on becoming a grand father.
Just awaiting some new Dali Opticon 1 Mk 2 speakers for the man cave, with the B&W 607 S2 going to the spare room
The Subs are not running off an Arcam though, they are running off a Matrix Audio Mini-I Pro 3 through RCA out
In my living room I have my SA30 and some Spendor D-7.2 floor standers and I have one Dali Sub woofer that I have used Dirac to help control. I am very happy with that setup but I have been too lazy to do a DIRAC re-measure and I need to do that again with the new speakers and microphone. (I have just retired and been too busy to do much of what I want to do ).
LOL. I am not yet retired but know the feeling. Sounds really challenging mate. Good luck & enjoy.
luke, if you’re still wondering about this go with rel’s recommended hi-level neutrik connection scheme. the red and the yellow wires go, one each, to the positive speaker taps on the sa30 and the single black wire to either of the negative taps. that way the sub gets the same output as your speakers and the rel sub sorts out the signal. hope that helps.
